A SUMMER JOB HAS ALWAYS BEEN A RITE OF PASSAGE, BUT A RECENT SURVEY* FOUND THAT TWO-THIRDS OF AMERICA’S BUSINESSES DID NOT HIRE ANY YOUTH FOR THE SUMMER OF 2012.
LOCAL YOUTH ARE DOING THEIR PART BY PREPARING THEMSELVES TO BE THE QUALITY EMPLOYEE THAT THE WORKPLACE DEMANDS.
JOIN THE LOS ANGELES AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND HIRE LA’S YOUTH IN INCREASING SUMMER JOB AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL YOUTH.
EMPLOYERS NEED WORK READY APPLICANTS. ATTEND A JOB SKILLS WORKSHOP TO LEARN WHAT EMPLOYERS EXPECT, THEN PARTICIPATE IN A MOCK INTERVIEW SESSION TO EARN YOUR WORK READINESS CERTIFICATE. THIS CERTIFICATE SHOWS YOUR EFFORT AND THAT YOU ARE PREPARED FOR WORKPLACE OPPORTUNITY
