L.A. YOUTH AT WORK

A project of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, L.A. Youth at Work trains local youth for entry level employment in a three step process:

Step 1: Job Skills Training [Job Skills Workshops]
Step 2: Certification of Accomplishment by industry defined standards [Work Readiness Certificate]
Step 3: Access to entry level employment opportunities with participating employers [Hiring Events].

HIRE LA’S YOUTH

Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa has challenged local employers to offer entry level employment opportunities to young job seekers, ages 16 - 24. Understanding employers’ needs for qualified applicants, the City of Los Angeles has partnered with LAYAW and the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce to prepare young adults to gain and maintain entry level employment.
