The City of Los Angeles and the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to offer local employers young adults, ages 16 to 24, who have the qualities your businesses require to hire and retain entry level employees.
Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa has challenged Los Angeles employers to HIRE LA’s Youth! Private, public and non-profit employers are joining together to hire 15,000 young job seekers between June 2008 and June 2009. However, we understand that in order to meet this challenge, employers need quality candidates with the entry level skills necessary to succeed in the workplace.
L.A. Youth at Work, a program of the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce, trains and certifies HIRE LA’s Youth applicants. Our candidates pass a rigorous training program, meeting criteria defined by human resource professionals, establishing their readiness for entry level employment.
Those are the standards to which our candidates are held accountable.
