The Work Readiness Certification responds to the “One in Five” Report outcome that just under 19.8% of 16 - 24 year old young adult residents of Los Angeles City are out-of-school and out-of-work. The Certification represents and documents basic workplace, academic and employability skills that pertain to all industries at the entry level. The Certificate’s “employer-defined” work readiness standard was developed in partnership with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and LAYAW, the Community Development Department (CDD), as well as the WIB Youth Council. The program is designed to ensure that our young adults are prepared to step to the “head of the line” when seeking employment in the Los Angeles.
