LA Youth at Work has hundreds of certified trainers dedicated to training and mentoring young adults.  Ron Kaufman is one of our busiest.  Anyone who attended his workshop knows about his videos, funny stories and the ability to make you understand what you need to do to prepare for a job.

 After attending a Work Readiness Session and earning a certificate, Paolo Galicia was selected as one of eight candidates to receive a summer internship with Parsons Corporation (Parsons)  through the L.A. Youth at Work program.  

Before I was selected for the law internship at Susan Barilich P.C., I was clueless as to what I wanted to study. I had zero interest in studying law however once I was given the first-hand experience it ignited a spark of interest in me. Moreover, not only did the internship help me determine what to study but it also helped me create connections. It was an amazing opportunity which I am grateful for. 

My name Is Zulma Ramos.....I’m sure that everyone around Los Angeles and especially when you are a young minority adult looking for a job, it can become very stressful because it’s so difficult. Most companies want people that have years of experience, but if we are not given a chance to obtain a job because we lack that experience how are we ever going to succeed. Having said that, the LA Youth at Work program is partnering up with great companies that are willing to give us a change to develop skills that are essential to be considered a competitive candidate when applying to a job.
