With COVID-19 developments and remote work/education settings, UNITE-LA continues to leverage the virtual online platform, WorkforceReady, for the continued upskilling of youth for job/career preparedness. WorkforceReady is an online professional development platform preparing youth for the real world of work through virtual learning and assessment modules using employer-validated competencies. The six-week, self-paced curriculum focuses on developing essential hard/soft skills including time management, creative problem solving, resume building, communication skill development, and professional relationship building through four learning and assessment modules: ApplicationReady, InterviewReady, JobReady, and CareerReady. Cohorts launch on a quarterly basis.
Participating youth have access to free virtual training around workforce ready skills, receive a WorkforceReady Certificate of Completion to include on their resume and LinkedIn profile, and after completing this certification, participating youth are invited to complete an interview assessment (WRC) to become certified "Job Ready" and placed on a priority list of employment opportunities with more than 100 of LAYAW company partners.
